The prolonged Air India pilots' strike had an impact on the Indian diaspora living in the United Arab Emirates with non-operation of flights from Dubai to Mangalore. Owing to the pilots' strike, several gulf-bound flights from Mangalore had been stopped.
However, following the withdrawal of the strike by pilots, Air India had initiated action necessary for the restoration of normal operations on its domestic sectors and flights to neighbouring countries.
A release issued by Air India office in Mangalore, stated that most of the cancelled Gulf-bound flights would start operating from next Monday, September 17.
As per the new schedule, there will be 10 flights every week between Mangalore - Dubai, three flights between Mangalore-Abu Dhabi–Muscat, three flights between Mangalore-Kuwait, one flight between Mangalore-Doha and one flight between Mangalore-Bahrain.
Following schedule is applicable from September 17 to October 26, 2012, following which winter schedule will start.
