Mangalore, September 22: Congress heavyweight M Veerappa Moily on Saturday said that his party was not ready to welcome beleaguered Bharatiya Janata Party leader B S Yeddyurappa.
Replying to the queries of media persons in the city, the Union Minister for Corporate Affairs and Power said that there was no place for opportunists in Congress Party.
The Union Minister's stern remarks came a day after BJP's first chief minister from South India dropped hints of leaving the saffron party saying he was facing a 'suffocating environment' in it.
Asked about Cauvery water-sharing row between Tamil Nadu and Karnataka, Mr Moily said that it was the responsibility of the two neighboring states to find a solution.
Instead of pointing fingers at the Centre, Chief Minister Jagadish Shetter led BJP government of Karnataka should explain the present situation of the State before the Apex Court, he said.
He also clarified that there was no immediate plan of leadership change in Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee.
