Mangalore, September 28: The launching ceremony of Campus Career Academy, Coastal Karnataka's first coaching centre for competitive exams and Diploma Education in Arabic Language (DEAL) was held in Mangalore on Friday.
Prof. T C Shivashankara Murthy, Vice Chancellor, Mangalore University, inaugurated the Academy. Ganesh Rao S, Founder Chairman, Karavali Group of Colleges, Mangalore, inaugurated the computer lab and library while Dr. Muhammad Ifthikaruddin, Director, MESCO, Hyderabad, launched the Diploma Education in Arabic Language.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Murthy lauded the efforts of Umar U H, Chairman, Campus Career Academy, in setting up a coaching centre.
“There is a need to take education to rural areas today. 220 million children join schools in India but by the time they reach College, the number decreases to 15 million. Where do the other 215 million go? Besides, there are only 600 universities in India. There is lack of infrastructure and limited opportunities for students to persue higher education and hence they miss out on seats. This is where career guidance comes in. The students need to be guided and informed about the various job opportunities in different disciplines”, he said.
Prof. M Abdul Rahman, Former Vice Chancellor, Calicut and Kannur Universities, was also present.
