Manipal, October 5: The Manipal University enhanced its security cover by adding 10 home guards to the existing police and campus security infrastructure.
According to a release issued here, the 24-hour campus patrol vehicles one in Kasturba Medical College and the other in Manipal Institute of Technology (MIT), will now have a home guard, a local police man, and one from the university security set-up to give patrolling more teeth.
This follows a recent meeting the university officials had with the district administration to improve security on the campus.
Superintendent of Police M B Boralingaiah, who launched the new security system, said the district police was keen to see that the university students lived on the campus free of any fear.
