He was speaking at a programme organized by the Majlis-e-Islaah-o-Tanzeem, Bhatkal, against the controversial film about Islam that went viral on Youtube. Misconceptions about Islam have spread because the followers of Islam are not inculcating the teachings of Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) besides failing in conveying the message of Islam and the Prophet's (pbuh) life to the world, he said.
People who have tried to defame the Prophet (pbuh) can never been successful, he said, stating that several attempts made in the past have all gone in vain.
Mohammed Ishaaq Puttur of Jamaat-e-Islami Hind (JIH), Mangalore, said that Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) is the most honourable person who lived on the face of the earth. In the name of freedom of expression, a conspiracy is being carried out against Islam and Muslims, he said. Stating that no one has the right to point to finger at the Prophet's (pbuh) life, Mr. Puttur said that no amount of protests are enough to condemn the act. The Prophet's (pbuh) personality was such that he would show compassion and kindness even to his enemies, he pointed out.
Muhiddin Althaf Kharoori, Chief Secretary, Tanzeem, demanded a worldwide ban on the controversial film against Islam. SM Syed Parvez, Vice President of Tanzeem, presided over the programme.
R P Manohar, Assistant Commissioner, accepted the memorandum submitted to him against the film on the occasion.
