The city remained cloudy with sporadic rain throughout the day. With temperatures declining, cold weather prevailed. Intermittent drizzle that started in the morning turned into heavy rain at least for half an hour in the evening at Bendorewell, Kankanady, Lalbagh, PVS Circle and other parts of the city.
Business, including that of street vendors, was marginally affected due to the weather condition. Most of the people preferred to remain in the house.
Rains became a hurdle for the smooth movement of vehicles. The motorists and pedestrians had a harrowing time, navigating the roads marooned by rainwater.
Fishing activities also affected in the region. The Purse-seine boats, trawlers as well as several mechanised boats were seen anchored at fisheries port.
The Meteorological Department's warning about any storm in the sea, strong winds kept the fishermen away from the sea. They were warned against venturing into sea for fishing. The sea was rough, unusually large waves and the weather worried the fishermen.
