Mangalore, November 5: A mother went into labour and delivered a baby girl in a 108 ambulance near Bellare in Sullia on Saturday.

The mother identified as Thayira (28) who was expecting her third child, was admitted to the Kadaba community hospital by her husband Mohammed Latif of Kalara in Kabada.

Doctors on duty, suspecting that the delivery would be complex, advised him to shift his wife to the Sullia hospital. When the ambulance was nearing Sullia, the mother went into labour and delivered.

The mother and child have been admitted to Sullia hospital and are doing well.
