Kasargod, November 26: Dr Mohammed Asheel, Assistant Nodal Officer of the Endosulfan Rehabilitation Cell here, has been chosen by the Department of Health to attend a three-week leadership training in the health sector in Japan.
Dr. Asheel is part of a 15-member delegation from India — three physicians and 12 IAS officials — who will visit Japan to undergo training in community-based health operations and management devised by the Japanese International Corporation Agency and the Government of India. The training session will be from December 3 up to December 20. The nominated officials will attend a pre-training orientation workshop in New Delhi from November 27 to November 29 before leaving for Japan, Dr. Asheel told The Hindu .
Dr. Asheel had represented Kerala at the Stockholm convention on Persistent Organic Pollutant (POP) held in April last.
