The arrested is Ajith (25), the brother-in-law of the victim Nagesh.
Nagesh had developed hatred for his wife Uttam from the past few years, it is said. They would reside in the local Omkareshwari Bhajana Mandir at night. Uttam's younger brother Ajith did not like Nagesh coming to his house and would fight with him on a regular basis.
On Sunday night too, Nagesh went to his wife's house and got into a brawl with Ajith. When things got really heated up, Ajith attacked Nagesh with a cricket bat and other sharp weapons killing him on the spot. Ajith is now absconding.
Ajith had escaped after realising that he had killed Nagesh. Mulky police, on receiving information that Ajith was seen near Padupanambur Primary School, went to the spot and nabbed him on Monday evening.
