Two arrested on charge of sheltering jailbreak accused

Kasargod, November 28: The police have arrested Naveen and Vinod, residents of Mullaria, near here, on the charge of sheltering three persons who escaped from the sub-jail here on November 20.

 

(Four inmates of the jail had fled after stabbing the warder but the police managed to nab one of them).

 

The Judicial First Class Magistrate Court here remanded the duo in custody for two weeks, Circle Inspector A. Satheesh Kumar, who led the team which arrested the accused, said.

 

Naveen and Vinod said they provided shelter to Rajan, alias Thekkan Rajan; and Rajesh of Karmanthody, Mr. Satheesh Kumar said. The police were carrying out intensive search operations in and around the Bavikara reserve forest and the Iriyanni locality, Mr. Satheesh Kumar said.
