Student stabbed, another assaulted; in two separate incidents

Sullia, November 28: Two strangers on a motorcycle stabbed a dental student late night on Monday and fled from the scene.

Devon, pursuing Bachelor of Dental Science in K V G Dental College here, had been walking towards his hostel at 12 a.m. at night, when two strange men on a Bajaj Pulsar stopped near him and began asking directions to Madikeri.

During this conversation, one of the two took Devon by surprise and gripped his arms tightly while the other slit his arm and neck. Following his screams, people began gathering at the spot while the two fled on their motor-cycle.

Devon, who was admitted to K V G Hospital, lodged a complaint with Sullia police station.

Student attacked

Manjeshwar, November 28: A Class 12 student was assaulted in Manjeshwar on Monday by a group of eight miscreants, after he tried to stop them from troubling his sister belonging to Class 10.

The injured Abdur-rahman (18), son of Mammunni from Battipadavu, studying in Meeyapadavu Government Secondary School, was admitted to Kasargod General Hospital.

According to the complainant, the incident occurred when he had been waiting for his bus to return home after classes ended for the day.

A case has been registered at Manjeshwar police station.
