High School students' science model competition gets underway

Mangalore, November 28: Technology is progressing in a supersonic way, and to support and backup this development the contribution of young generation is very much important, said Rithesh Shetty, Vice President of DK Zilla Panchayath.

 

He was addressing in the inaugural session of High School students science model competition organised by the Department of Karnataka State Education Research and Training, Pilikula Regional Science Center and Department of DDPI DK district at Pilikula near here on Wednesday.

 

He pointed out that the scientific, technological innovations should be made in the field of farming and environment conservation. It will try to conserve our farming ideas alive and to motivate the youths to work in the fields. The students should focus on making the country to be proud than serving other countries and helping them to develop, he said.

 

DK Zilla Panchayath CEO Dr. K N Vijayaprakash advised the students to ask questions to get answers which they find it unknown and unheard.

He also appreciated goal oriented achievements reached by the students of DK district in the field of science model competitions at national level.

 

In his presidential address, Secretary of Pilikula Regional Science Center Mr Ajith Kumar Hegde Shanady said that along with scientific temper the students should learn to express the humanitarian feels of life. Parents should focus on the childhood development of their kids through that they can guide them to learn how to behave in the schools and society, which may lead them to learn more and contribute to the society in different streams of life, he said.

 

Taluk Panchayat president Harish K, Zilla Panchayat Member Yashwanthi Alva, Principal and Director of Teachers Training institute Mangalore Philomina Lobo, Coordinator of DK Sarva Shikshana Abhiyana Shivaprakash, Moodushedde Gram Panchayat president Umesh J, Director of Pilikula Biological Park H J Bhandary were present at the occasion.

 

Director (training) of PRSC Dr K V Rao briefed about the programme and welcomed the gathering. DDPI of DK district Moses Jayashekhar delivered the vote of thanks. Sudhakar Pejavar had compeered for the session.

 

After the inaugural session the guests visited the science model competition yard and wished the students.
