Karwar, November 30: As a part of ongoing Navy Day celebrations 2012, the Karwar Naval Hospital, INHS Patanjali, conducted free medical camp for the benefit of project-affected families and deserving public at large.
The camp was conducted at Netaji Subhas Chander Bose Higher Primary School, Rehabilitation Centre at Harwada from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. covering approximately 4,500 people. Medical officers from Naval Base Karwar were available for free consultation, examination, and treatment. Free medicines were provided to the sick personnel. General health examination, gynaecological and oral / dental examination facilities were availed by patients. More than 350 sick personnel were attended to at the camp. The second similar camp will be organised on December 6, at Janata Vidyalaya, rehabilitation Centre, Mudga.
The volleyball championship comprising 19 teams from Karwar region conducted inside the Naval Base at indoor stadium from November 26 to 29 came to an end on Thursday. Teams from Binaga, Baithkol, Arga, Chendia, Ankola, Sadashivagad, and Amadalli, including Navy teams, participated in the championship.
Teams of college boys from Sadashivegad and Mahadev Team Arga made it to the finals. Attractive cash awards, trophies, and merit certificates were awarded to winners and runner up teams.
