Mangalore, December 4: Much to the delight of his fans, Kannada film actor Darshan paid a visit to the city of Mangalore on Tuesday to promote his latest film 'Krantiveera Sangolli Rayanna' which was released last month.
Fans surrounded Darshan when he arrived at the 'Central' cinema theatre situated in Hampankatta, where the movie is being screened. The place was thronged by his fans eager for a glimpse of their idol. A sight of the scene indicated the frenzy of people who wanted to take in as much of 'Darshan' as possible.
It is the actor's customary habit to visit cinema halls in various cities across the state, where his movies are being screened. It has been a month since Sangolli Rayanna was released in Mangalore.
Darshan plays the lead in Sangolli Rayanna which is his 41st film, produced by Anand Appugol. It is a period film, based on the life and fight of Sangolli Rayanna against the British, as the Commander-in-chief of Chenamma's army.
The film also stars veteran actress Jayapradha as Kittur Rani Chennamma, and actor Srinivasa Murthy, and is directed by Naganna.
