Mangalore, December 6: Representatives of Kulur Muhiyuddin Jumma Masjid have demanded a CBI probe into the Panjimogaru double murder case.
Addressing media persons at Press Club in Mangalore on Thursday, Hakeem Kulur, Joint Secretary, Kulur Muhiyuddin Jumma Masjid, Panjimogaru said that even after 1 year and 5 months passing by, the culprits who carried out the murder of Raziya and her eight year old daughter Fathima Zuha, have still not been caught.
“In spite of various appeals and protests, nothing has been achieved so far. DK police who otherwise nab culprits efficiently cracking cases of murders, dacoities etc, have not been able to catch the perpetrators of the Panjimogaru double murder. Even though the enquiry has been handed over to CoD, it has not yielded results so far. The case must be handed over to a higher agency (CBI)”, he said.
Appeals in this regard would be made to J Krishna Palemar, local MLA, and C T Ravi, DK District in-charge minister, Mr. Kulur said.
K Ayub, President, Kulur Muhiyuddin Jumma Masjid, Ahmed Basheer, Secretary, and members Mohammed Haneef and Naufal Bawa were also present in the press meet.
It could be recalled here that unknown miscreants had knifed Razia (35) wife of Hameed, a scrap dealer, and his daughter Fathima Zuha (8) at their residence of Panjimogaru under Kavoor police station limits on June 28, 2011.
