Mangalore, December 6: A girl had a miraculous escape when speeding car rammed into two shops near Pumpwell bus stop in the city on Thursday evening.
Sandeep, the proprietor of 'Sandeep Arts', and Prahalhad Sahani, the proprietor of 'Sahani Furnitures' suffered a loss of around Rs 30,000 each when the ill-fated car entered their shops all of a sudden.
Luckily, the 'Ford Fiesta' bearing registration number KA 19 MC 2610 did not sustained any significant damage. The driver also escaped unhurt.
The incident occurred at around 7:00 p.m. within seconds after the car driver, without noticing the oncoming bus, over took another bus plying from the direction of BC Road to Mangalore.
In a bid to avert collision with the oncoming bus, the driver turned his to car to the extreme right and rammed into the shops losing control over the vehicle.
The driver of the car could not apply the brakes as some material came under the brake pedal, it is said.
Eye witnesses said that a girl, who was sitting inside the 'Sandeep Arts', had a miraculous during the incident.
A case has been registered at Mangalore Rural Police Station.
