Mangalore, Jan 1: The BJP has done its 'homework' and therefore, is not too worried about the upcoming Assembly elections, said C T Ravi, District in-charge minister, DK.
Speaking to reporters at Press Club as he came to meet journalists to give his good wishes for New Year on Tuesday, Mr. Ravi expressed confidence that the party will retain power in the state.
“Those who do last minute study always struggle during exams. For those who do their homework every day and study on a daily basis, examinations are never a headache. We have been carrying out pro-people work and development of the state regularly as part of our duty and not with an eye on the elections. Our constant services will fetch us another term”, he said.
On the internal conflict and dissidence within the BJP, Mr. Ravi said that conflicts are between leaders and not party activists. “Internal conflict within our party may have given confidence to other parties. But the conflicts are between leaders and not activists. Party activists continue to remain organized and it is on the basis of this organizational strength that we will go into the elections”, he said.
The criterion for fielding candidates would be based on party ideology rather than personal star value, he added.
The minister wished the people of Dakshina Kannada a happy new year on the occasion and hoped that there would be better rainfall in the state this time around. He also appealed people to continue maintaining harmony and peaceful co-existence.
