Although various examinations in the state scheduled on Thursday had been postponed to other days, there was no disruption of transportation in the district.
Apart from couple of physiotherapy colleges in Mangalore, all schools, colleges and offices remained open today.
Students of Dr M V Shetty College of Physiotherapy observed a bandh by closing clinics and skipping classes on Thursday. The college management supported the cause by closing the clinics and classes for the day.
Ritu Chauhan, a physiotherapy student, said that they were supporting the bandh mainly for demanding quick justice to the Delhi victim and strict punishment to the perpetrators of the crime. We are also supporting the bandh as a way of expressing our sorrow toward her death, she said.
In view of the bandh, the second year DEd supplementary examination has been postponed to January 11. Earlier, Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU) announced the postponement of its BE semester exams to other dates.
However, no bandh was observed by schools and others colleges in Mangalore on Thursday.
