Kozhikod, Jan 7: All India Sunni Jamiyyathul Ulama General Secretary of A P Aboobacker Musliyar Kanthapuram said that the existing laws alone would never be able to offer full justice to the people of the country.
Speaking at the annual convocation of Markaz Ssaquafathi Ssunniyya, in which 941 students were awarded their certificates on Sunday, he said there should be efforts to incorporate possible religious canons, along with the constitutional laws, for strengthening the system, he said at
On the increasing attacks on women, he said a country would prosper only if its women were given respect and protection.
He said advancements and attempts to reform society would be meaningless without upholding the basic human morality and social responsibility. It was high time the religious communities encouraged exchange of knowledge and cultural values for making productive interventions in society, taking into account the changing social scene.
He called upon the government institutions to think of a fruitful exchange of knowledge and other resources among reputable national and international educational institutions.
Mr. Kanthapuram pointed out that it was the misuse of acquired knowledge and skill that spoiled several persons in their life.
