Mangalore, Jan 25: 'Abbakka TV 24x7', a new local TV channel will be launched on January 31 in Koolya, Mangalore.
Disclosing this to media persons at Press Club in Mangalore on Thursday, Shashidhar Poyyuttabail, Programme Director, Abbakka TV, said that the channel will be aired by 'Willpower Media' from the Chiranjeevi Towers office at Deralakatte.
The channel will be available to the TV watching populace of Kallapu, Thokkottu, Beeri, Talapady Manjeshwara, Deralakatte, Mudipu Bolyaru, Ira, Saletturu, all of which fall under Thokottu's CCN network. In coming days, the channel will extend its reach to Puttur's PCN and Kasaragod's KCC networks as well, he said.
The formal launching ceremony will be held at Koolya Kulala Mandira near Kotekar on January 31 at 10:45 am. As a tribute to Rani Abbakka, seven ladies will light the lamp together on the occasion, he said.
The channel intends to focus on women's issues and prominence would be given to women related activities. Spiritual and religious programmes with due importance to all faiths would also be aired, Mr. Poyyuttabail said.
Ashwini Harish Nayak, Technical Director, Suprith Bhandary Ira, Marketing Director, Ganesh Talapady, Marketing Executive, Gangadhar Piliyuru, News Editor of the channel, were present at the press meet.
