Mangalore, Feb 1: A man and his female colleague were brutally attacked by a group of miscreants, allegedly belonging to a Hindutva outfit, while travelling together in a car at Pumpwell Circle in Mangalore Thursday night.
Around 7.15 pm, the Muslim man and the Hindu woman, colleagues in a private company in the city, were assaulted by a group of five to six men. They suffered severe injuries to the body and face.
“The man, identified as A.R. Khan, a manager of a mobile service centre, had offered to drop the receptionist girl to her house when the miscreants stopped their car near Karavali Circle,” said City Police Commissioner Manish Karbikar.
The victims could not identify the attackers who fled the spot immediately. Commissioner said the police were yet to find the culprits.
However it is learnt that the assailants belonged to Bajrang Dal.
A case has been registered in the Kadri police station.
