Shiroor, Feb 2: No matter, which field you choose to make your career, keep the country and mind and be the heroes of the country, said veteran off-spinner Harbhajan Singh.
Speaking as the chief guest of the annual day programme at Green Valley National School, Shiroor, on Friday, Mr. Singh opted to have a talk with the kids to motivate them. He, calling them the future of the country advised them to keep the interest of the nation in mind in anything they do.
Appreciating the efforts of Abdul Khader (Bashu), President and Managing Trustee, Shiroor Welfare Trust, in setting up a quality school in a rural landscape, Mr. Singh urged the students and parents to make use of the excellent infrastructure that is at their disposal.
Mr. Bashu felicitated Mr. Singh on the occasion. Dr. John Mathew, Principal, Green Valley National School, Shiroor, presented the school report.
A colourful entertainment programme was dished out by students of the school for the audience. Mr. Singh also shook a leg with the students' Bhangra troupe on stage, much to the delight of the crowd.
Earlier in the day, Mr. Singh launched the revamped website of the school besides laying the foundation stone for the swimming pool project in the school premises.
Mr. Singh also spent some time with the students of 'Dina' School for Special Education and Rehabilitation, Shiroor.
