Mangalore, Mar 1: With regard to the upcoming elections for urban local bodies to be held on March 7, District spokesperson of KJP A Hameed Kandak said that the achievements and accomplishments of former chief minister B S Yeddyurappa themselves would serve as the party manifesto for the elections.
Addressing mediapersons at a press conference here on Friday, he said that Yeddyurappa had released a grant of Rs 300 crore for the development of Mangalore City Corporation during his tenure as the Chief Minister of the state.
The party has fielded its candidates in 28 wards in the entire district including the MCC in the ULB elections this year. The main priority of the party has been the representation of women in half of the party's candidature, while aiming at establishing a corruption-free administration in the district, he said, appealing to people to exercise their votes in favour of KJP, based on Yeddyurappa's performance in the past years.
Announcing the list of candidates contesting from KJP in different wards in the MCC, he said that Santhosh would contest from Katipalla East, Mohammed Thousif from Katipalla North, Praveen Kanchan from Kulai, Raheem Angaragudde from Baikampady, Chetan Kumar from Panambur, Shivaraj from Panjimogaru, Ranjith V Shetty from Kavoor, Geeta Das from Pachanady, Mariamma Thomas from Padavu, Mary Gibson from Falnir, Vishwas K N Singh from Court, Sudheer Putran from Port, Jagadish Poojary from Alape North, and Fouzia from Bengre.
Ravindra Shetty, Lawrence D'Souza, Shrinivas Shetty and Guruchandra Hegde were present in the press conference.
