Mangalore, Mar 1: The 'American Business Corner' was inaugurated at Kanara Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI), Mangalore, by Judy Reinke, Minister Counselor for Commercial Affairs, American Embassy, New Delhi, on Friday.
Speaking on the occasion, Ms. Reinke said that the initiative has “broadened American business spheres in an important part of the country” and termed the move as a “partnership”.
“We trust in you and expect KCCI to share opportunities of expansion of American businesses here while we ensure complete cooperation from our side”, she said, while maintaining that the initiative is “not a one-time deal”.
American Business Corner (ABC) is a programme aimed at raising the visibility of the US Commercial Service in India's cities. The goal of the programme is to connect businesses in these cities with US exporters by engaging local chambers of commerce and their members and facilitating doing business with and investing in the United States.
Currently, ABCs have been launched in cities of Madurai, Coimbatore, Vishakhapatnam, Trivandrum, Kochi and Guwahati.
These centres provide information about US companies through booklets, brochures, newspapers etc. Points of contact at the nearest US Commercial Service office can also be obtained from these centres.
