Speaking at the meeting organised by Democracy Protection Forum against the alleged attempt to tarnish the image of the MLA in question, the seer said that it was possible to concoct the video depicted in the CD due to the advent of technology and hence it could not be assumed to be genuine.
The video shown in the CD cannot be believed. The genuineness of the video should be probed and investigation should be conducted both on the accused person shown in the video and on the person behind the recording of the video. Till investigation establishes the truth, one should not make an assumption or come to any conclusion, he said.
He said that he was not restricted to any party and did not want to blame any political party for the CD row. The ones found guilty in the probe should be punished, he added.
Former Rotary District governor Jnana Vasantha Shetty said that no person would come forward in the future to be elected as a representative of the people, if attempts to defame the MLA succeeded.
Former president of Kannada Sahitya Parishad Harikrishna Punaroor called upon the people to stand in support of the accused MLA Raghupathi Bhat.
Seer Vikhyatananda, Pradeep Kumar Kalkura, Vasudev Bhat, Ranjan Kalkura and others were present in the public meeting.
