Mangalore, May 9: While the Congress leadership is doing the last move to form the government, here in Dakshina Kannada district there are speculations doing rounds with regard to that one leader who will be given the responsibility of the district in-charge minister from the lot and also the possibilities of Muslim MLA getting a ministerial berth.

With this three names - Bantwal MLA B Ramanath Rai, Mulky-Moodbidri MLA Abhayachandra Jain and Mangalore MLA U T Khader having bright chances of becoming ministers.

Going by the word of Union Minister M Veerappa Moily, Ramanath Rai will be given an influential portfolio and there is no doubt about this.

However, there are talks that one more person will see ministerial berth from the district and it may be either Abhaychandra Jain or U T Khader.

Both of these leaders are minority leaders and while Mr Jain has won four times, Khader has won thrice.

In DK district, so far no Muslim MLAs have got the ministerial berth from Congress.

Though B M Idinabba, U T Fareed, K M Ibrahim were some of the influential leaders from the Muslim community, there did not see the ministerial berth. Hence, giving ministerial berth to a Muslim candidate gains more momentum and hold more meaning too.

To get ministerial berth under Muslim quota, U T Khader will have to tide over some other influential Muslims leaders at the state such as Roshen Beg, Tanveer Sait, N A Harris, who are all in anticipation of a berth.
