Mangalore, May 9: Unknown miscreants stole a cow and a calf from a house and allegedly planted severed feet of cow in the 'Tulasi Katta' located in front of the same house near Someshwar-Uchil on the outskirts of the city.
The incident, which might have taken place last night, came to light on Thursday morning when a family member approached Tulasi Katta.
Mangalore MLA U T Khader, upon learning about the incident, visited the spot and directed the police to take immediate steps to nab the culprits and prevent recurrence of such incident.
He also requested the local residents not to politicize the issue.
Owner of the house, Ganesh Vasudeva Mallya, said that though they informed the jurisdictional police about the incident, the latter did not reach the spot even after hours and hence they informed the MLA. Later a case was registered.
