Mr Moily made an inspection of the on-going work in the new building of the hospital.
Speaking to mediapersons during a visit to the hospital on Monday, he said that the work was instructed to be completely soon as patients faced the problem of shortage of beds in the hospital.
The contract for the construction work had been handed to Shrikrishna Shelters Pvt Ltd from Bangalore. The construction of the building is on-going sooner than expected, he said.
He said that the first two storeys of the building would be handed to the hospital as there was shortage of space.
Perne tragedy
With regard to the victims of gas tragedy that occurred at Perne, he said that a meeting had recently been held with the officials of HPCL in Bangalore, and compensation would be provided to the affected families within a course of six weeks' time.
On the occasion, Deputy Commissioner N Prakash, MRPL Managing Director P P Upadhya, corporator Shashidhar Hegde, Bhaskar Moily, and others were present. Contractor of the project Raghavendra was also present.
