New Delhi, Jun 26: Members of Jamaat-e-Islami Hind from Uttar Pradesh (West) and Uttarakhand zone have been holding relief camp at Haridwar railway station for victims of devastating flood in Uttarakhand.
Local administration and Indian Railways have cooperated with the team of JIH to set up the relief camp at the railway station. They have also provided residential facilities to the JIH team. The relief camp was inaugurated by Railway Superintendent Mr. GK Das.
The relief camp consists of a team of five medical specialists and a mobile hospital equipped with all necessary machinery and facilities for treatment. Crowds of survivors are lining up at the camp and they are being attended properly.
Maulana Inamullah Islahi, zonal president of JIH, has been camping in Haridwar to supervise the relief work. The efforts of the Jamaat are being praised by commoners in the town as a good initiative for communal harmony.
Besides the Haridwar relief camp, JIH has also sent some other teams comprising its senior leaders and former DSP Mohammad Waseem to Dehradun and Rishikesh. These teams are surveying affected people so that they could also be provided help as per their requirements, stated a release issued by the organisation.
