Bantwal, Jun 30: After splendid success of Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA), which brought about a revolution in the primary education sector, the Center is all set to extend the programme even to higher primary education under the banner 'Madhyamika Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan' so as to bring about qualitative change even in the higher primary education.
Informing about the same, district in-charge minister B Ramanath rai said that through SSA major infrastructure development was seen in primary schools.
He was addressing the inaugural programme of the new building of Melkar Women's PU College on Saturday.
“The same model will be replicated in the future even in higher primary schools,” he said adding that student community in specific should take onus of preserving the environment and nature.
Mr Rai who holds the environment and forest portfolios, said that he will try his level best to give a facelift to the departments and frame laws which will strengthen the departments and also contribute largely for conservation of natural resources.
Former vice-chancellor of Kannur University Prof M Abdul Rehman said that value based education is the need of the hour.
Yenepoya Mohommad Kunhi, ZP member Mamatha Gatti among others were present. Meanwhile Mr Rai was felicitation by the institution management.
