Brutally murdered in broad daylight on Wednesday by unknown miscreants at his office at Tannery Road here.
He was a journalist, a news weekly owner, a credit co-operative society functionary and a primary school proprietor. Police are wondering whose toes he tread upon, resulting in his murder.
A customer of the cooperative society said Hudah was of late troubled by encroachment of a piece of land he owned. "Hudah was attempting to get his land back. I suspect that more than anything it could be a probable reason behind the murder," he added.
Investigating officers said they are working on multiple theories. Hudah had recently published an article about a scheduled urban co-operative bank that was slapped with curbs by RBI. The article spoke about alleged misappropriations involving the bank. He had also spearheaded a protest against the bank.
According to an associate,Hudah received a threat call after the protest but did not report the same to police. A call to the bank chairman did not elicit any response. Police said they are looking into allegations about some financial disputes involving the cooperative society he was running and some land disputes.
Home minister KJ George and MLA Rohan Baig along with senior police officers visited the murder spot and took stock of the situation.
