Mangalore, Jul 14: A bunch of Jawa motorbike aficionados belonging to 'The Mangalore Jawa and Yezdi Motorcycle Club' and other vintage motorcycle enthusiasts came together on Sunday, to celebrate the 11th International Jawa Day, which is celebrated on the second Sunday of July every year.
Earlier in the day, a team of riders from the club set off on their Jawa and Yezdi motorbikes from Kadri and convened at Hebri, where several other Jawa-Yezdi enthusiasts joined them from various locations such as Shimoga, Koppa, Kundapur, Udupi and Karkala.
After a short time, the large group of riders split up and rode back to their respective cities. Once back, the team from Mangalore, led by Shawn Fernandes and Arun Shiri, along with several other motorcyclists held a bike rally in the city.
The group of riders, consisting of about 25 Jawa and Yezdi bikes, thundered through the city starting from Kadri to Hampankatta and back, flaunting their twin-stroke possessions.
The group rode from Kadri, and chugged towards Nanthoor, Bejai, Lalbagh, MG Road, PVS Circle, Navbharath Circle, Hampankatta, Falnir, Highlands, Kankanady and Mallikatte and made it back to Kadri.
