Mangalore, Jul 22: Unidentified miscreants robbed two women of gold chains under two different police station in the district.
In first instance, three men wearing monkey caps snatched gold necklace, rings and bangles worth Rs 60,000 from Beena Misquith (22) at Kallamankur near Moodbidri.
As one masked miscreant threatened Beena with a knife, another took off the gold, a third man on a bike helped them get away.
A police official said the gang had struck in at least three other places around Moodbidri recently. However, no arrest has been made so far.
In second instance, a gold necklace, estimated to be worth Rs. 1 lakh, was snatched from a woman in Kulya village in Puttur taluk on Sunday.
According to Puttur Rural police, Sujatha was walking towards her house when two unidentified men wearing helmets came on a black motorbike and snatched her chain and rode away at around 4 p.m.
