Leaders of Muslim community have confirmed the moon sighting and urged the Muslims to celebrate the festival according to the principles and teachings of Islam.
“After receiving reliable reports of moon sighting from a place near Kozhikod, Mangalore Khazi Thwaqa Ahmed Musliyar has declared that Thursday will be the Eid day for Muslims of Mangalore”, said Yenepoya Abdullah Kunnhi, President of Zeenath Bakhsh Jum'a Masjid.
Announcing the arrival of the month of Shawwal, Udupi Khazi Ibrahim Musliyar Bekal urged the Muslim community members to celebrate the Eid peacefully and pray for the welfare of the mankind.
Ullal Qazi Thajul Ulama Alhaj Assayyid Abdurrahman Al-bukhari Thangal has also declared the end of Ramadan, said a spokesperson of Ullal Dargah
