President of State private bus owners association K Rajavarma Ballal speaking with media persons here on Saturday announced that state government has given permission to increase the bus fare up to 25 per cent but considering the convenience of the passengers the Association has decided to hike only 10 to 15 per cent.
"Since there is hike in diesel price we need to revise bus fares to manage stability.
To avoid heavy burden on passengers association decided to increase 10 to 15 percent of bus fare in state. But, diesel price is expected to hike by another Rs 15 by next year," K Rajavarma Ballal said.
Now private bus fare between Mangalore-Udupi is Rs 50 and Tuesady onwards it will be Rs 55 and private city bus which is Rs 6 at present will be increased for Rs 7, he stated.

Speaking about facilities for daily travelers between Kundapur-Mangalore K Rajavarma Ballal said 'with the concession of 35 percent a new swipe card will be given for regular passengers. Passengers need to pay for the card in advance and recharge it as per their need. This facility is available for students also. Soon service will be extended between Mangalore-Moodbidri-Karkala route and Kinnigoli- Kateel- Mangalore too, he announced.
