Speaking at a press conference here on Friday, Dakshina Kannada PFI vice-president said that saffron activists from the Sangh Parivar were targeting Muslim cattle traders for no reason. In view of increasing cattle thefts in the coastal region, miscreants have begun resorting to taking the law into their own hands, and begun attacking legitimate traders from the past several days. This is taking place in the presence of the police which remains immobile in this regard,” he said.
Urging for action against the Sangh Parivar, he said that miscreants involved in cattle theft were trying to tag the blame on others. Meanwhile, leaders of the same outfits urge people to protect cattle with guns and other weapons, while the police continue to remain as mute spectators”, he stated.
“However, the silence of the police department and district administration in tackling communal activities showcases the failure of system in the district. Earlier, ministers declared that the police and district administration were directly responsible for moral policing and communal activities, but now, the same elected representatives remain silent on this issue. Immediate action should be taken against such miscreants,” he demanded.
