Mangalore, Aug 28: Parliament election observers of Congress R V Venkatesh, S G Nanjayanamutt and KMS Pandyan collected feedback and proposals from the Congress party workers in Dakshina Kannada district office on Wednesday for upcoming parliament elections.
Meanwhile Minister for forest, environment and ecology, B Ramanath Rai speaking at the meet said, “developmental works done by the Congress government had lead the Congress candidates to win bypolls in Karnataka. Voters blessed party because of the trust they have on party and its work. Present feedback and suggestions collected by the Committee for upcoming elections will help in having an eligible candidate and work united”, he said.
Speaking about the Congress party's work in coastal Karnataka, parliament election observer, RV Venkatesh, added that the mood of the people and their enthusiasm shows that they are in favour of the Congress party. The people of Karnataka have suffered during the BJP rule. Scams and communal riots during the JDS and the BJP rule have yielded unexpected results in elections. “People want a strong, transparent and efficient Government and the Congress is the only party which is capable of giving all that,” he said
“Even between fracases the congress in Dakshina Kannada district bagged seven seats in assembly election. This shows that 30 percent of voters do not belong to any party but they are in favour of developmental works. In order to protect public interest central government passed food security bill and by end of five years the administration at the center would have had completed 90 percent of promises made in election manifesto”, said parliament election observer, SG Nanjayana Mutt.
