Mangalore, Aug 31: Calling upon the community members to ensure that their children receive good quality education, Minister for Health U T Khader has said that education holds answer for all the problems faced by the community at present.
Conferring the Maulana Abdul Kalam Azaad and Sir Allama Iqbal Awards to four students from Muslim community at Kankanady Jamiathul Falah community hall, Mr Khader said that the gift that education gives is eternal and people can receive more benefits from education in comparison to any benefit extended by the government.
UNIWEF state president Rafiuddin Kudroli presiding over the programme said that the administration should stop portraying Muslims as second class citizens.
SDM Law College Principal Dr B Ravindra, Entrepreneur Abdul Khader Riyaz Bava among others were present. UNIWEF District President U K Khader delivered the keynote address.
The awards were given to Mohommad Anas (Puttur St Philomena's High School) and Thaufeera (Sullia Goonadka Nehru Memorial School) for securing highest marks in SSLC.
Zaheera from Ramakunjeshwara College, Ramakunja and Zabeer Ullal from St Aloysius College received the award for scoring highest marks in PUC.
