Addressing the gathering Mr Rai said that thousands of years ago Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) had given a clarion call to his people asking them to pay attention towards gaining education. “Muslims in general and women in particular are seen coming forward to gain education, which is a positive development,” he said .
Releasing the souvenir of the federation, Minister for Health and Family Welfare U T Khader said that a revolution was possible only when more and more schools were opened in rural areas.
“There were several misconceptions among the Muslims with regard to education. However, due to the efforts of former education minister B A Moideen and MEIF, there is a drastic change in the scenario,” said Mr Khader adding that at present paying importance to value based education has become a necessity.
MEIF Honorary Presdient B A Moideen presided over the programme. Federation former president P A Khader Kukkady was felicitated.
MLA Moideen Bava, Yenepoya Foundation president Muhammad Kunhi, Deshabhaktha Karnad Sadashiva Rao Trust Secretary Gunasheela Ballal among others were present.
