After persistent struggle for five-years, he could finally meet his father in Mumbai but he could not see his mother as she had passed away in 2009.

Martin Boerkemp (33) is presently working as a researcher in Netherlands University. When he was two years old, Bertus and Leis Boerkemp couple adopted him from Moodbidri, in 1982.

Five years ago, Martin felt the urge to see his biological parents and this brought him to India.

With just one piece of information that he was given on adoption through Mt Rosari Institution, Martin came to India and initiated the search.

With the help of an activist named Anjali Pawar, Martin finally met his biological father in Mumbai.

On searching the documents at the adoption centre, it was found that Martin was born to minor unwed parents. Hence the child was abandoned by the parents. The mother of the child is said to have been married later and had two kids out of that marriage.

Martin, who traced his mother, later met the kids born to his mother out of her marriage. With initial inhibitions, Martin's step-siblings accepted him. Martin had spent some quality time with his step-siblings in Moodbidri.

It is said that Martin's father hails from Kadri. Though he was not willing to meet Martin initially, on Wednesday, he embraced Martin at his very first sight. Martin was accompanied by his wife Nazareth.

He also took part in the Mumbai's Ganeshothsav celebration.

He has come down to Mysore from Mumbai. He will leave to Netherlands on September 28, along with Saliva swab of his biological father for a DNA test.

However, speaking about the same, Martin's biological father has said that when Martin was born, he was a minor. "Due to personal commitment I could never trace the lady who had given birth to Martin. When I wanted to look for her, it was too late," he said.
