As the news of the sexual abuse of a child came to light, parents gathered in large number outside Madhava Kripa school in Manipal and staged stir against the school management, highlighting its lapses.
According to the protesters, what was disappointing was the fact that neither the school management wanted to listen to what the parents of the victim had to say nor did they offer to hold a told with them.
There is no Parents' Teachers' Association here. Hence the parents have no idea about the measures taken by the school to ensure safety of the students, said the parents.
No entry
The protesters were denied entry into school premises on Monday. However, Udupi MLA Pramodh Madhwaraj visited the protesters and promised action.
Speaking to the reporters Mr Madhwaraj said that he received an SMS with regard to the incident when he was in Mumbai taking part in Konkan Railway meeting.
"The SMS also pleaded for justice. I asked the parents of the victim to register a complaint first. Two have been nabbed in this regard. Action will be taken against the school after investigating into the matter," said Mr Madhwaraj.
