Ms Shetty was in Mangalore to inform about the review meeting of six departments to be held on Thursday and addressing the reporters about the same on Wednesday, she responded to the query with regard to the Saujanya murder case.
She said that she along with MLA Vasanth Bangera have demanded CBI probe into case, in the Assembly.
The Committee will be reviewing six department in Mangalore for the first time and the departments concerned will be questioned with regard to the same during the review meeting to be held at ZP office on Thursday, she said adding that the Committee will review various aspects pertaining to welfare and protection of women, children, persons with special needs and senior citizens.
“The Committee, moving first time outside Bangalore, held one such review meetings at Belgaum and it received good response. Encouraged by the response there are plans to convene such meetings in other parts of the state,” he said and added that Mangalore will be the second place to convene the meeting.
On Thursday, Home and Excise, Women and Child Welfare, Revenue, Health, Education and Labour departments from Udupi, DK, Chikmagalur, Hasan will be reviewed.
The proceedings of the meet will be forwarded to the Government in a form of a report and the Committee will make suitable recommendations.
