Bangalore, Oct 27: The Karnataka Pradesh Youth Congress Committee (KPYCC) has endorsed the statement of Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi who said Pakistan's intelligence agency ISI was in touch with some Muslim youths from the riot-hit Muzaffarnagar in Uttar Pradesh.
In a statement, KPYCC president Rizwan Arshad said the ISI would “exploit the communal and polarised situation in the aftermath of the communal violence in Muzaffarnagar. The youth there have seen their near and dear ones being killed, raped and chased away from their villages. Their pain, anger and helplessness will certainly be exploited by the anti-India forces and countries such as Pakistan”.
The statement said: “The exploitation of Muslim youth started in 1992 with the demolition of the Babri Masjid and the resultant riots wherein thousands were killed and millions displaced across the country. The 2002 Gujarat riots resulted in more brutalities against the Muslim community.”
Pointing out that Bharatiya Janata Party prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi had no right to ask for an apology from Mr. Gandhi for his remark, the statement said the biggest beneficiary of communal polarisation was the BJP and the sangh parivar. The Muslim community did not require Mr. Modi's sympathies, the statement added.
