Mangalore, Oct 29: As part of its silver jubilee celebration, Shanthi Prakashana, a Mangalore based Islamic publication house, will be launching a month-long promotional campaign across the state of Karnataka on November 1.
Announcing this at a press conference here on Tuesday, senior litterateur Erya Lakshminarayana Alva said that the theme of the state-level campaign would be'Shanthigagi Sahitya' (literature for peace).
As a part of the campaign, a'book exhibition' and'vision expo' will be hosted at Town Hall, Mangalore on November 4, from 10 a.m. onwards, he said.
The book fair will be inaugurated by union minister M Veerappa Moily while state minister for forest, ecology and environment B Ramanath Rai will inaugurate'Vision Expo'.
The Kannada translation of third volume of Tafheem-ul-Qur'an will be unveiled by minister for health and family welfare U T Khadar. Another book, “Maathu Hegirabeku” will be released by minister for youth, sports and fisheries K Abhayachandra Jain. Dakshina Kannada M P Nalin Kumar Kateel will release the book “Bharathiya Samskrutiya Anthardharegalu”, he said.
Chairman of Shanthi Prakashana Muhammed Abdullah Javed will be presiding over the formal function and Kannada activist Pradeep Kumar Kalkura and others will be present, said Mr Alva.
Activists K M Shareef Saheb, M B Abdul Rahman among others were present at the press meet.
