Mangalore, Oct 30: Vishwa Hindu Parishat (VHP) has taken exception to'Bidaai', a scheme of the government specifically focusing at marriage for Muslim girls and has opined that the Congress which calls itself'secular' is bringing in scheme which is evidently anti-Hindu.
Dr P Ananthakrishna of VHP has said that the scheme is nothing but an injustice meted out not just at the Hindus but also at Christians, Jains, Parsis, Sikhs and other minority sections.
“There are girls in all communities who are fighting out financial crunches. Why the scheme has been made only for Muslims. Isn't that a vote bank politics of the Congress,” he questioned.
Prof M B Puranik said that'Bidaai' or Shaadi Bhaagya scheme will be questioned after collecting opinion of the people.
He said that the scheme would have been welcomed if it was meant for girls from all communities.
He said that the state government has completely sidelined Go Seva Ayoga at the state. This Commission has not been given even basic facilities.
He called upon the state to extend facilities to this Commission too and treat it on par with others.
He also pressed for justice for Saujanya and said that the case must be handed over to CBI for a probe, but at the same time said that the case should not bring disgrace to pious pilgrim centre like Dharmasthala.
