Mangalore, Nov 12: On the occasion of Yenepoya University Founder's Day, Centre for Craniofacial Anomalies (CCA) and NSS Unit, Yenepoya University in association with The Smile Train (NGO) and Face Foundation, will organise Children's Day Celebrations in the university premises in Deralakatte on Thursday, said registrar of the university Dr C V Raghuveer.
Speaking at a press conference here on Tuesday, he said that Director of Suvarna Auraksha Arogya Trust, Government of Karnataka, H M Mujeeb Ahamed will be the chief guest on the occasion. Vice Chancellor of Yenepoya University Dr P Chandramohan will be the guest of honour and Chancellor Y Abdulla Kunhi will preside over the function. Over 250 cleft palate children associated with CCA from across South India are expected to participate in the event, he said.
The main aim of the programme is to instill confidence among these children to face the society, to bring out their hidden talent and to make them productive and responsible citizens of the country, he said.
The programme is scheduled to be held at Indoor auditorium, Yenepoya University, Deralakatte at 11.15 a.m. on Thursday.
CCA Administrative Director Dr Akhter Husain, Unit Head Dr Mustafa and Dr Shahanaz were present in the press conference.
