Mangalore, Nov 15: A three- day long painting and photography exhibition titled “Reminiscence” is an event with the difference. For the first time ever, a couple is showcasing its artistic venture on one platform with the aim of spreading awareness on need for restoring communal harmony and protecting Mother Earth.
The event is organised by the'Kerala Samajam' Mangalore at Ladies Club and the artist couple Ullal Babu and Sabeena from Kerala are speaking eloquently about the rich Indian heritage, bringing to the art connoisseurs the colours of nature.
The expo was inaugurated by Mangalore South constituency MLA J R Lobo on Friday. The expo will be open for next two days.
Ullal Babu is a teacher at GHSS Kasargod and Sabeena is a senior clerk at RTO office Kanhagad.
Briefing about the painting Ullal Babu said that they have been visiting several historical places and these visits have inspired them to take up painting and photography.
“We paint some of them on the spot while sometimes we photograph and then translate it into paintings,” he said
While paying tribute to her father, who is also her drawing teacher Sabeena said that painting is her hobby and she loves doing abstract painting.
The couple says that it has focused on bringing out through this medium the aspect of communal harmony connecting it with the past Indian history.
“Peace and Harmony” are the major needs of the society and we are trying to convey this message through art. Even protecting Mother Nature is our duty and we try to spread awareness on this through our paintings,” she said.
