Mangalore, Nov 17: After several resplendent episodes of both Alva's Nudisiri and Alva's Virasat the organizer of these historic event is all set to amalgamate the two and stage'Alvas Vishwa Nudisiri Virasat-2013' from December 19 to 22 at Vidyagiri in Moodabidri.
Speaking about the same, Dr Mohan Alva, the man behind these historic events during the preparatory meet in Mangalore on Saturday said that the events have grown to what it is only due to the efforts of the volunteers.
This year, as Dr Alva said was going to be a special year because it marks 10th year of'Nudisiri' and 20th year of'Virasat' and hence he as an organizer is expecting an overwhelming participation exceeding the expectation. “We are expecting a minimum participation of 50,000 selected artists and litterateurs to participate in this event. Every day, a minimum of 2 lac spectators will grace the occasion and for this purpose a sprawling 100 acre venue is getting ready where the stages will be put up at seven different locations,” he said adding that arrangements to accommodate as many as 50,000 persons have been made.
He further said that a cultural team of Alva's Foundation comprising of 250 members has started cultural shows in Mumbai and in a month's time they will stage shows all over India as part of Vishwa Virasat.
Addressing the gathering MLA J R Lobo said that Alvas Nudisiri and Virasat is nothing less than a festivity for the residents of Moodabidri.
Fr Francis Gomes, principal, Milagres College, Mangalore said that 55 committees are working towards making the event a grant success and the estimated expense may cross Rs 20 crore.
