Mangalore, June 8: “Hope I would be a better doctor in future, as I myself was a patient for so many days. Now I can understand the feelings of a patient...” These confidential lines were uttered by Bangladeshi national Sabrina Nasrin Huq, the lone woman survivor of Mangalore's worst ever aviation tragedy, during her discharge from AJ Hospital here on Monday, June 7, after three weeks of treatment.
Praising the Almighty, she thanked all the people who helped her after the unexpected tragedy that took place on May 22. She also expressed gratitude to the management and doctors of AJ Hospital, especially those who attended her.
Sabrina, who was interning in the KMC Hospital, Manipal, said that her experience in AJ Hospital as a patient will be useful in the future.
In a meaningful farewell celebration inside the hospital, AJ Shetty, the Managing Director and President of Laxmi Memorial Trust bid adieu to this unforgettable patient in the presence of a host of doctors and officials.
Dr. Prashanth Marla, said that all the doctors have given their best in the treatment of Sabrina. He also admired her patience and that of her family members.
Lidwin D'Souza introduced the doctors and dignitaries present on the occasion. The family members of Sabrina also expressed gratitude to the management and doctors of the hospital.
Dr. Prashanth Shetty, Vice-president of Laxmi Memorial Trust, Dr. Ramesh Pai, Dean of AJ Institute of Memorial Sciences, Dr. Dinesh Kadam and Dr. Sudarshan Bhandary were among those present.
