Bengaluru, Jan 9: The second day of Bharat Bandh called by various trade unions turned violent in many places in Karnataka with miscreants pelting stones at State transport buses in over 50 places, but the shut off call by workers remained partial with commercial establishments remain open and government and other offices operating normally across the State.
Police said stone pelting incidents were reported from many districts forcing transport corporations withdraw most of its services in the morning.
But barring such incidents the situation remained well under control, sources said.
Police took into many custody agitating trade union members in several places after reports of stone pelting and their attempt to block vehicular traffic in thoroughfares were reported in many places including the state capital of Bengaluru.
Schools and colleges remained across the State for the second day today and all the varsities had already postponed the examinations programmed for yesterday and today.
